Tasmania joins MIB
MIAA (2009-10-12 23:39:10)
The Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) has appointed Martin Robinson, General Manager of The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania (RYCT) to its Board of Directors. This new appointment means MIAA now has Board representation from each Australian state.
MIAA Chairman Andrew Chapman says, “We are very pleased to welcome Martin to our existing Board of Directors. MIAA has 14 of its 183 members in Tasmania and this appointment provides a direct linkage with the marina industries in Tasmania. We look forward to Martin’s participation in further strengthening our capacity to respond to the needs of industry in Tasmania and to liaise with government to ensure that marina industries are effectively promoted and protectedâ€.
Robinson has been with the RYCT for two years and has on-going business interests in Hobart. He has a breadth of business experience including retail, environmental consultancy and finance. From 1992 – 2000 he lived in New York working in a range of senior positions within the financial markets.
He anticipates contributing to the policy and strategy settings of MIAA and representing the needs of the marina industries both in Tasmania and from a national perspective.
“I was very impressed by the MIAA’s ‘Marinas 2009 International Conference and Exhibition’ held in May on the Gold Coast,†he says. “I took back many good ideas to assist the RYCT. Clearly the MIAA has a lead role to play through its marina education, environmental programs and policy and research.†[go back...]
